NASA GRACE Mission
Monitoring Earth’s Water
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=s93i7m82h54The GRACE (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment) and GRACE-FO (Gravity Recovery and Climate Experiment Follow-On) missions exemplify collaborative endeavors between NASA and the German Space Agency (DLR) in the monitoring of Earth’s gravitational field variations.
Consisting of two satellites operating in tandem, the original GRACE mission, initiated in 2002, revolutionized our comprehension of climate dynamics and water resource management. The GRACE-FO mission, launched in 2018, seamlessly continues this legacy.
These satellites yield invaluable data for forecasting droughts, mitigating floods, and proficiently managing water resources.
Additionally, they deepen our insights into alterations in Earth’s gravitational field, significantly contributing to the global pool of scientific knowledge and fostering international cooperation in space exploration.
